Fried green tomatoes are one of the biggest perks of Southern living and one of my favorite foods. A friend of mine gave me some big green tomatoes out of her garden and I decided to give the old classic dish a try.
I sliced them thick and then battered them with cornmeal and half and half, because I didn’t have milk.
I fried them for a couple minutes on each side and girlfriend, let me tell you; I just about ate myself sick on some fried green tomatoes.
I happened to have some blue cheese crumbles in the fridge, so I sprinkled those on top. This was probably the best recipe I made all summer.
