There are quite a few state parks and outdoor activities within easy driving distance of our home. This fall I’m taking advantage of the cool weather and getting the kids outside to experience some of what Georgia had to offer. Our first trip was to BJ Reece Apple Farm in Ellijay, a u-pick apple orchard and country store. For $10 each we got to pick our own apples, visit the petting zoo and go on a hay ride through the orchard. We also had a picnic overlooking the north Georgia mountains. The kids loved every minute of it and it was a perfect Sunday afternoon.
The apples were low enough so that the kids could pick them right off the trees.
The petting zoo was a big hit with goats, rabbits, a turkey, piglets and chickens.
It happened to be my birthday and I had a wonderful day enjoying my kids and the outdoors!
